We help organisations achieve fast flow

We’re the leading consultancy when it comes to providing the hands-on support that leadership and delivery teams need to implement Team Topologies and achieve fast flow.

We are proud to be accredited as both a Team Topologies Learning Partner, and a Team Topologies Solutions Partner.

Alongside this, we are working hard to build and grow the Team Topologies community, sharing what we have learned and bringing together the wonderful people that operate in this space.

What is
Team Topologies?

Team Topologies is a clear, easy-to-follow iterative approach to modern software delivery with an emphasis on optimising business and technology team interactions for flow.

Leaders and their teams have told us they find it a refreshing approach both to avoiding ‘big bang’, hit (but often miss) reorganisations and also to building in-house capabilities to react to future challenges.

What is flow?

Value flows in one direction, from the business through to operations on to the customer. The goal is to maximise the efficiency of flow of work through the entire system.

What stops organisations
from achieving flow?

Structural issues are often the biggest blockers to faster flow and can occur at any level of the organisation.

Long-lived and legacy systems can also be obstacles, as can missing capabilities.

Lots of organisations know they’re blocked. Many of them have implemented initiatives to remove them but find that fast flow remains elusive.

There are often reasons for this. For example, they focus on team types, rather than how those teams will interact with each other.

How we help

We have a proven approach to helping organisations achieve faster flow.

It’s not always linear; some organisations want to be more aware, others need leadership support to establish the right patterns and practices, and some are ready for us to accelerate their teams.

We focus where you need us to.

Re-Live FastFlowConf

Co-created and organised by Armakuni

Hosted in May 2023, FastFlowConf was the first public event of its kind to focus on the approach and methodologies described in Team Topologies. Our mission was to bring together practitioners, experts and enthusiastic beginners to share knowledge and ideas, as well as to grow the community.

Our approach

Team Topologies
Awareness

A Team Topologies Lunch and Learn session (or sessions, for different levels of the organisation) is a great way to start learning more about the approach whilst picking up practical hints and tips.

Other types of sessions can follow but these Lunch and Learns are how most engagements start. If you haven’t already attended a Lunch and Learn session, and would like us to run one for your organisation, email us at hello@armakuni.com

We also deliver official Team Topologies training courses, including Team Topologies in a Nutshell (P818) and Getting Started with Team Topologies (P822).

Team Topologies
Leadership Enabling

An Armakuni Enabling team will help you to establish a Team Topologies practice in your organisation.

A small team, led by one of our Consulting CTOs, will work with your leadership and change agents to provide your leaders with the insights, advice, guidance, training and practical support to help them adopt the patterns and practices you need to evolve into an organisation that can achieve fast flow.

A typical engagement might involve us providing one or two contributors, for no more than two days a week and over three to six months.

Team Topologies
Team Acceleration

Team Topologies Team Acceleration will provide the hands-on support your people need to achieve fast flow.

A typical Acceleration engagement will take place over 12 weeks. We will embed experienced practitioners into your teams, to drive the behaviours, ways of working, and technical changes needed, on the ground and in your context.

We use techniques such as ensemble and pair programming, back-of-the-classroom training, coaching, and mentoring to support your enabling, stream-aligned, platform and complicated-sub-system teams.
