Get a real number for modernizing the system nobody wants to touch.
Estimate your legacy modernization with AI is a free, one-hour live workshop. AI agents now read old .NET, Java and COBOL code and do much of the conversion. The estimate comes from what's really in the code, and you'll see how it's made, and the tests that make the result safe to ship.
What you'll get
- What AI agents can read from code nobody understands
- Where AWS Transform converts, and where tests come first
- What staying costs, worked out in dollars per sprint

Teams we've built for

- Comic Relief
AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, one of about 300 among more than 130,000 AWS partners.
The rewrite was never the hard part. Knowing what the old code does was.
AI agents can now read code nobody understands, map what depends on what, and do much of the conversion. AWS Transform ports .NET Framework to Linux, SQL Server to Amazon Aurora and mainframe COBOL into documented services.
What makes the result trustworthy is everything AK Evolve puts around the conversion: tests that prove a change is safe, guardrails that stop an AI agent going beyond its scope, and a target architecture chosen before the first line moves.
What you'll take away from the hour
- 01
See inside the old code
We run Compass on code like yours and show what is really in it: the parts that matter, the parts nobody calls, the risk in each.
- 02
The conversion, done right
AWS Transform ports .NET Framework to Linux, SQL Server to Amazon Aurora and COBOL into documented services. We add the test suites and guardrails so the result can be trusted.
- 03
A number you can plan on
A costed modernization roadmap, and the licenses you stop paying for at the end of it.
What we look at to estimate a modernization
Compass, our assessment, reads a codebase in five layers. Each one changes the estimate.
- 1
Static complexity
How tangled the code is, module by module, and where the size hides.
- 2
Coupling
What has to change together. A change to one part that breaks three others is where estimates go wrong.
- 3
Test verifiability
Whether a change could be proven safe today, and what tests have to exist first.
- 4
Change risk
Where incidents have come from, so the riskiest parts are moved with the most care.
- 5
AI readiness
Which services AI agents can work on safely, and which need a person's hand on every change.
- 6
What staying costs
Licenses, support contracts, hiring for old skills, and tech debt in dollars per sprint: the number that makes the case.
Each system then gets a move (keep, rehost, replatform, refactor, replace or retire) and a costed roadmap, with AWS's Migration Acceleration Program where it applies.
What we bring
The modernization runs on our own tooling, inside your AWS account.
AK Evolve
AI agents modernize your code inside tests and set boundaries: every pull request passes quality gates, and a person approves every production change.
The orchestration layer, with its source, stays in your AWS account under your IAM.
Compass, part of AK Evolve
Reads a codebase in five layers (complexity, coupling, test verifiability, change risk and AI readiness) and shows what to change first, with tech debt in dollars.
You keep the map and the order to change things in.
One hour, run by the engineers who do the work
See it
AI agents modernizing a real legacy codebase: an AI agent writes code, a test catches the flaw and the change is blocked; an AI agent reaches beyond its scope and the guardrail stops it.
How it's costed
Compass's five layers on a codebase, ending in the tech debt number, and how the roadmap is ordered.
Your questions
Bring the system everyone is afraid to touch. You don't have to share its code.
The private workshop: a day on your own systems
Compass on your code, or on a representative codebase of the same stack if you'd rather not share yours. What's really in it, what staying costs, and the order to move things in.
Who comes
The CTO or VP Engineering, the lead architect, the engineering manager whose team lives with the result, and someone from finance or the programme office.
What to bring
The list of systems. Code is optional.
Your data
Your code only if you choose; otherwise a codebase of the same stack, so nothing leaves your systems.
What you leave with
- The systems to start with, and why
- A first view of coupling and test risk
- How the tech debt number is worked out
- The move for each system and a costed roadmap
- Whether it qualifies for AWS funding
What clients say about working with us
They provided clear, actionable solutions that helped us overcome challenges and meet our goals.
If I provide a technical requirement, I know it will get done. I'm not seeing any loose ends.
Armakuni was [the company's] first partner experience having previously shied away from outsourcing to now fully appreciating the achievements & innovation they have provided.
- Under 0.25%of AWS partners are Premier Tier. We're one of about 300.
- 500+AWS customer launches
- 1,300+engineers across the UK, US, UAE, India and Canada
- 70%of the proofs of concept we scope reach production
Before you sign up
Is it free?
Yes. The live hour and the private day cost nothing; if the work qualifies for AWS funding, we'll tell you which programme.
Is this a pitch for a rewrite?
No. Keeping a system and putting tests around it is a real answer, and sometimes the right one. The estimate comes from the code, whichever way it points.
Do we have to share our code?
No. We can run the assessment on a representative codebase of the same stack, and show the same findings.
Isn't AI-written code risky on a core system?
It is without tests and guardrails. That's why every change is tested and reviewed, and an AI agent can't reach beyond the scope it's given.
What happens after?
A Compass assessment of two to three weeks, then the modernization workload by workload, with AWS funding where it applies.
